You had probably guessed that I wasn’t a-writter-kinda guy just by looking at how often I make an entry. So, what had inspired to post this time?
This morning when I was driving to work, a friend of mine rang me up asking me to check out a girl from YouTube. He said this girl sings brilliantly and I will never regret for checking it out (my friend knew that I had always had a thing on girls who can sing). Considering I had never concords on his taste for music and the fact that I was driving, I simply amused him.
Anyway, after one whole day of hectic work schedule and a “not-so-intense” workout session, lethargy had collapsed me to my bed the first thing I arrived home. This time, my friend asked me again if I had checked the girl out. Yawning, I told him that I was totally worn off and needed a rest but his never-ending coaxes annoyed me so I finally gave in. Then, I switched on my laptop and searched for the name he mentioned in YouTube.
The first video I watched was her performance on a David Foster show. I was totally blown away right after she sang. Her vocal, the power and her stage charisma boggled my mind. Singing high register with powerful vocals seem like a cinch to her (I wonder if she can whistle). My first impression toward this 17-years-old yet mesmerizing young lady was: "A vocal prodigy”, "Voices with the touch of God”... After watching the first video, I can’t hold myself back from searching more video of her.
Just to share some of the best videos of her, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you 16-years-old’s Charice Pempengco from Philippines.
I think Charice really has the potential to be a bona fide diva in the future. In one of her appearance in The Oprah Winfrey Show, Oprah was so impressed by Charice that she called on David Foster to make Charice into his newest protégé. Since then Charice has appeared alongside many of today's top stars such as Katharine McPhee, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Alicia Keys and Celine Dion.
P/S: I bet that my friend is elating right now since that I had finally agreed with his taste for music….
Congratulations! You have been
ReplyDelete"Chariced". I have been captivated by Charice for the past year and a half. What a girl, what a voice!
