The Malaysia 'Kia' Nostalgic (^^)V

I received an interesting e-mail this morning with subject title "When We Were Young". Considering I am in fact, genuinely, really, authentically, bona fide'ly' YOUNG, "We Were Young" doesn't really seems like an e-mail message intended to me. Nonetheless, I read it. ^^

My first impression to the e-mail when I first looked at it was actually nothing more than a few pieces of photos showing kid's stuffs. But interesting enough, those kid's stuffs was the things that I used to bug my mum and dad to buy for me. I bet most of it was no longer on sales in the market.... (Still remember how I used to annoy my parents to spare me few extra cents so that I could get some of these stuffs)

As I scroll down the e-mail, more and more photos appeared right in front of me... "kam kam", "ti ti kei", "power ranger", "ninja turtle".... is all coming back again... these pictures were like film strips - flashing back my childhood nostalgia. The once blurred memories were slowly becoming vivid.

Now I remember now how my grandma cajoled me to go pasar with her early in the morning…

Now I remember how I threatened to not leave my granddad office if he refuses to give me some money…

Now I remember how I was punished by my mum for stealing marbles from a grocery store…

Now I remember how my dad cheers me up with cartoon tapes…

Now I remember…

Now I can remember things which I have long forgotten… How sweet!

To my gong gong and popo, thank you for loving me. Although you were no longer here, you will always have a place in my heart. I will miss you…

Ok, sentimental time is up. For the typical Malaysia "kia", here are some photos to share (courtesy of my dear friend - Enyi). Remember to spare some time out of your busy schedule to evoke your nostalgia… it does feels good (^^)V

  1. Just for everyone's record, I am neither a spanish nor an italian.. I, too, once had a childhood surrounded by these toys. The 80às babies would know that we are talking about the toys which we could get many of them from the roti车 that came around in the evening to our houses. We would bug our parents or grandparents in return for some change in order to buy the toys. Those were the days, I wonder what kids do now... PS, PSP, PS2?

p/s: sto bene ma fa freddo qua :)
